Something I just saw about the new Let's Make A Deal

I know Wikipedia isn't the most reliable source, but there's
a mention, citing TV Guide, that Let's Make A Deal is going
to get the 12:30/11:30 slot, bumping Y&R to 3/2. Does anyone
know anything about this? Is this only in certain markets?

It is possible, but that would mean that Y&R would take the morning slot in the markets that currently air GL then.

Yet another reason Wikipedia is worthless. TV Guide reporter no such thing.

IF there's a station out there shuffling the schedule outside of the already-available dual feed of 10 am/ 3 pm, it's not reflective of the official schedule, and whichever fantasy writer was "editing" Wikipedia should have made note of that. Instead, they "cited" an article and lied about what it says.

Doesn't Young and the Restless still air in the afternoon in some places?

On the east coast -- always had, always will be. Elsewhere, it generally airs in the morning, usually after Price.

By the way, I "fixed" that Wikipedia article for you -- articles there are only as good as its sources.

Still? It's been at 12:30 ET/11 or 11:30 elsewhere for years.

Yesterday one of our local news outlets ( KMGH Denver ) was reporting that Wikipedia is doing some major changes about how to "fix info" and who can do it. From what I heard, in this case only CBS and the people involved with the show ( I.e. production companies, producers, the host..) they can fix/update info..not just anyone.

When does this go into effect? KMGH did NOT say.

And neither did Wikipedia -- and I use it alot. If they did not say and they fail to give a source, KMGH is just as crooked as the vandals that give false info at Wikipedia.

Which could explain why Denver KMGH's newscasts rank at the bottom in the market. Likewise ( at least from what I have heard ) with their sister station in Indianapolis..WRTV.

Remember you're talking about the station who broke the story on the scandal at the Air Force Academy. Look at what happened as a result of that. That made NATIONAL news.

They also won awards (Not to mention RESPECT) from local officials & the public in their RELENTLESS reporting of the troubled Social Services system when it came to the issue of foster care in the wake of the deaths of two children at the hands of adults who had NO BUSINESS WHATSOEVER being around kids.

NOW do you think KMGH is a "crook"???

JFYI.....

Cheers :)

They only rank 3rd behind CBS O&O KCNC 4 & Gannett-Owned KUSA 9 (NBC). THE ONLY reason why KMGH is 3rd in the first place is they can't seem to crack the ceiling above them that is KCNC 4 & KUSA 9. They're about as high as they can go & have done just about everything humanly possible to turn their image of the 1990s around.

KWGN 2 is the one that ranks last (If you've seen their newscasts, you'd see why). Why do you think Local Media is putting their best stuff on KDVR 31??? Answer - BETTER RATINGS.

Obviously you two have never been in Denver & are judging the performance of each station BY READING A BOOK. How 'bout actually watching the stations here in Denver instead (KDVR streams it's newscasts on its website & KUSA 9 can now be found on LiveStream). Who knows? You just might be surprised at what you see.

Just my opinion....

Cheers :)

P.S. I don't work in Denver TV, though I do watch KMGH & KDVR for news as a devoted viewer.

I think "still" means the four markets where Y&R airs at 4 PM local time:
St. Louis, Baton Rouge, Louisville, and Raleigh. I know of only one in the
Eastern time zone that airs it in the morning: Lexington, KY (WKYT, 9 AM).

Still (in a different usage) I can't imagine CBS giving up its advantage of
running Y&R on the East Coast a half-hour before All My Children and Days
Of Our Lives. I've argued this before, but I'd rather see more stations take
Let's Make A Deal at 10, since I think it would make a great back-to-back
parlay with Price, and take 3 PM for themselves.

Ah actually I do a LOT of business in Denver ( King Soopers grocery stores are one of my clients ) so I have seen their TV news product. I can understand why KWGN does so bad there.

Have you ever read Penny Parker's column in the Post and the News? For some reason she has this "hatred" with KMGH especially for some unknown reason their weatherguy Mike Nelson. A few years ago when Penny's column was in the now defunct Rocky Mountain News she claimed that much of KMGH's news was "made up" and "rare is it 100% right". Why KMGH stood off to the side and did nothing is beyond me. But then again she is just ONE person with an opinion and so maybe KMGH did what some of the other media people/outlets there are doing such as KOA-AM's late night host Rick Barber and HOT 107.1 ( she has never forgave 107.1 for letting Gloria Neal go even though Gloria has since went on to bigger and better things )..that is to overlook this woman..and her pen..whoops..her PC.

WBNS DT is going to air the new Let's Make a Deal at 10AM EST. They are going to move Dr. Phil to 3PM. I'm guessing that the station wants to air both CBS game shows back to back.

Some publicity is better than no publicity.

Not only that, but I don't think their set is in HD like KDVR's is.
Have you ever read Penny Parker's column in the Post and the News?
Can't say that I have. I was wondering who replaced Dusty Saunders. Next time I pick up a paper, I'll haeave to take a look at her column.
For some reason she has this "hatred" with KMGH especially for some unknown reason their weatherguy Mike Nelson.
Hmm....Sounds like she's either got a crush on Ed Greene over on KCNC 4 (Not likely considering KWGN/KDVR also has a male chief meteorologist) or prefers a female chief meteorologist, which KUSA's Kathy Sabine would qualify for.
A few years ago when Penny's column was in the now defunct Rocky Mountain News she claimed that much of KMGH's news was "made up" and "rare is it 100% right". Why KMGH stood off to the side and did nothing is beyond me.
Maybe they just decided to let their track record in the post-Natalie Pujo days (e.g. From id-1996 to THE PRESENT) speak for itself considering the awards they've won since.
She obviously sounds like she needs to get a few pieces of advice from her predecessor - Dusty Saunders before she becomes THE NEXT Natalie Pujo (That's a SCARY thought in this day & age).

Well.....At least YOU know a little something about the quality of the newscasts on each of the stations since you do business here. But it just DRIVES ME UP THE WALLS when some schmuck who's NEVER been to Denver OR watch the newscasts over the web sit in front of their PC's judging a station's overall performance SIMPLY BY READING A FRIGGIN' BOOK.

As I said, I'm not in TV professionally, but it doesn't take rocket science to figure out what some of the people on here who are in the industry professionally say & think about Denver TV simply because of what they see & read in a book.

Sorry for my rant, but KMGH has come a LONG ways since the days of Natalie Pujo & that stupid REAL Life REAL News moniker they used.

Cheers :)
