Something I'm surprised wasn't brought up.

So there was another "change" over at 105.3 and nothing was said on this board. Hmmmm, surprised to not see anything on the changes that were made last week on The Jagger Show.

I'll give you a cookie if you guess it right.

Jagger underwent a sex-change operation to improve his voice?

One change that was made, and I would suspect to bring more "sports" content into the show, was to have Mickey Spagnola do a Cowboys report on a daily basis.

Actually I do think the Mickey report is new. The reason I say that is that as of last week; he will still doing a daily report during the Newy/Richie show AND during the Jagger show. I don't think this is just a change; it is a new element to Jagger's show.

Regards
Rich

Could it possibly be that nothing was said b/c no one is listening?

I give up what is it?

Okay, I listened this morning and the only difference I heard was when Jasmine did the traffic for each accident she said how far the back up was and how long the delay was. Do I get a cookie?

I knew that Jimmy and Jantzen were no longer "on air"... Jimmy just producing and Jantzen only screening calls. Did he get canned?

Does anybody care that he got canned?

Kind of relates to an argument I had here with Mike Shannon a while back; Does anybody tune in to hear the producer, or the traffic reporter on a station?

To me, they're a spice, a condiment. If the producer is a flavor I don't like (say, grey poupon) and they slather so much of it on the broadcast that it makes it distasteful, I'm out.

But in small doses, fine. I'm eating the chicken sandwich because I like chicken, not the salt and pepper they put on it.

So they've stopped using MSG. Big deal. The meat (Jagger) dressing (Dean and Mike) and the nice buns (Jazmine) of the sandwich are the same...

, but traffic reporters add a lot to the shows ,especially if they interact, and producers as well since they make it flow or are suppose to.
And how much do they add if they don't interact? And if a producer is "making it flow", they don't need to be on the air to do it...

Now if they've got something to add, fine. But there's a reason you get steak sauce with steaks and wasabi with sushi. Because it (supposedly) compliments the main course.

But I highly doubt that a vegetarian is suddenly going to start liking a meaty main course (Kraddick, Jody Dean, whoever) because they like the steak sauce condiment...

People tune into a radio show because they like the music. Or they think the jocks are funny. Or they agree with the hosts opinions on sports/politics/life...

I've NEVER talked to a listener (and I've talked to plenty) that listens for a producer or a traffic reporter. They may like one more than another, but it all comes back to the main course...

... but if there's lipstick on the water glass, or grease on the spoon, they're never coming back...
Likewise, if someone else has a traffic presentation that is ACCURATE, or a show that has COMPELLING CONTENT, listeners will switch channels, without consciously considering why.

If a radio station is on the air but no one listens to it..........................does it really broadcast at all ???
