Something in the air in Lansdale

Managed some good catches tonight as I was riding around Lansdale:

Overall, a good night for MARYLAND!

96.7 WCEI
100.9 WAAI Country
Q105
93.5 The Beach
Froggy 99.9 (beating up the Hawk!)
Eagle 97.7 WAFL

Also, these fine stations that I don't usually get:

101.3 the Rose (doing a "Whatever Weekend")
96.3 WQXR
93.1 (WPAT?)
Mega 97.9
Soft Rock 100.1
92.3 K-Rock

Also, noticed a station on 99.3 that sounds like they just flipped to country. Running two songs back to back with no liner...then a generic positioner "Today's Hot Hits and yesterday's classic...All Country 99.3". Anyone have any inklings? I noticed it since I usually get either Kiss FM from Harrisburg or 99.3 The Buzz from AC.

WVES, Accomac, VA.

I caught them a couple times from around Philly when I lived there. A quick check of VARTV shows they're using the "All Country" positioner.

They've been Country for a long time, although the "All Country" name might be new. I think they were just using the calls when I picked them up.

I believe WVES runs mostly satellite-fed programming & uses the positioner from that service. I have picked it up in this area before, too. I can get Froggy 99.9 often in place of WODE in Montgomery Co. under certain weather conditions.

On AM in & around parts of Lansdale WNPV can drown out everything on the AM dial from 1400 to 1500. Watch out if they ever go IBOC!
