something is about to happen...

I've heard that rumor too about Tulsa..But don't know who they'd do it to. And I can't imagine them being dumb enough to go country as the original post suggests. I've looked at the ratings inside and out and I don't see where they could be making a "MOOOOVE." All of the formats are performing in either ratings, revenue or both. Not sure where to look harder.

if anything happens its going to happen in Tulsa at KQLL Kool 106.1

Bob Cooper just resigned. Hmmmmmmm. I smell a format change coming. I do not see them going country. It's pretty crowded in that format!

Maybe they should flip to Christian. We only have about 6 Christian stations in Tulsa. I think there's a hole waiting to be filled.=)

Maybe 106.1 will program "nothing". Some stations call themselves "Jack" and will play "anything". How about a station that programs "nothing". Just think of the cost reduction and it could be cyberjocked and no one would know it. Huh? Kool? The only sounds would be religious mantras like "OOOOMMMMM". The station could hold massive "silence" demonstrations. Just think of the potential. I think that the only problem would be it would be easily copied and that might confuse the market. Huh?

I think a solid active rocker would be a nice fit for Tulsa. Something like KATT in OKC would be a welcome change on the dial in Tulsa.

Who (if anyone in town) would pick up the oldies torch?

That's just it. Many "oldies" stations are nothing more than 70s pop machines these days anyway. Remember how bad top 40 was in the 70s?

Their HD2 station is better. More 50s and 60s. But more and more of the oldies stations have dumped the early 60s and 50s altogether and play the same 200 songs from the late 60s and 70s. Even some disco is creeping onto the oldies stations. :p
