Something Is Happening At 103.9 WKPE-FM

I know nothing about this station but country sounds like a good bet to me. I don't know who has the best signals that cover the entire Cape but think the area is glutted with classic hits and rock at this point and a real oldie format isn't looked at as viable for most markets.

They switched to Hot AC today (Friday 10/12/07) as a familar old name... Cape 104. Interesting choice of format however, since WCOD has this format and Frank FM is slightly similar as Adult (Variety) Hits. Also WQRC tends to lean a little toward the hot side of AC.

How much AC can a market take? In addition to the others named above, Ocean 104 is AC, as well as WQRC. Throw in the AAA Cool 102, and there are 5 AC-ish stations on the Cape. Someone NEEDS to flip to Country out there....

LOL....Aqualung, WOMEN would beg to differ! And Sandab is talking to A LOT of women on all their properties right now.......

I know what you mean but it's a tired old format you can hear anywhere and when it comes to AC unless you have a strong staff if you've heard one you've heard'em all. Also keep in mind I don't know anything about what the people there sound like and I also think other than mornings AC stations aren't famous for strong staffs even in bigger markets.

WHY does someone "NEED" to flip to country out there? Just because a in market signal of a format doesn't exist, doesn't mean someone should pick it up. I mean, WCTK's signal is city grade over just about the entire cape! Not to mention 102.5 from Boston which does well signal wise over good chunks of the land. Honestly there isn't a need for it. If there was, the only viable candidate would be 93.5 , which is on what might be an edge to the 98.1 signal. (Even though it's really not).

I don't think someone "needs" to flip a signal to country of the Cod. However, I believe that, if done correctly, a country signal from the Cape would do well. Maybe not #1, but a solid property.
