Something's gotta change with Today's 96.5

This was in a mom and pop owned station in South America, my point is, Orban engineers invested the time and resourcrs to search, design and create the best presets for each radio format and loaded them in every single semi-new processor, in no way an average Joe will come with a better sound guessing by ear with a $300 set of headphones. Just my humble opinion.

Many stations use the presets as a start point. They try different ones, and then find the closest to what they want, and then tweak.

The reason for tweaking is that the Orban and Omnia designers can not know what is up ahead of their gear. Any leveling or AGC system will color the audio, and must be adjusted for in the Omnia or Orban gear. And then there is the combination of the Nielsen encoder and the Voltair... requiring certain additional tweaks.

That's more than true and I agree, my point is, when you ask for a medium well stake you expect it to be brown on the outside, slightly pink in the center, and warm all around. Then you add more or less salt, peeper or bbq sauce depending on your taste and what your sides are. Same with the processor, seems like some stations are running with a total different audio curve than the one that's expected for x format, especially stations that change format every other year.
