Somone That I Just Discovered

When I visited Miami in the very early seventies (1970), I noticed a fantastic voice doing WQAM promotions. I knew that it was not anyone at WQAM.

I found out recently that it was the voice of Gary Gears who was at KQV in 1970 and later was on WLS. Matt mentioned Charlie Van Dyke as someone he has many airchecks of. You may want to listen to your Gary Gears airchecks. He sounds better than Charlie Van Dyke.

Just listen to the voice of Gary Gears. It is the perfect Top 40 radio voice.

This is one of his promos, preceding a new song on the playlist:

"Lady's and gentleman, you are about to hear another hit in the making, as WQAM presents a South Florida record premier."

I have an aircheck of that promo preceding, "It's A Shame," by The Spinners<P ID="signature">______________
