Turns out KPFK's Mr. Smolin has a band and did a performance in Echo Park called, "Bring Back The Real Don Steele."

This tune here is called "Boss Radio," and it's quite a catchy song.

Apparently, according to the L.A. Weekly, this was done in one take with any rehearsal.

I checked it out... then checked out the tributes to KHJ, also featured on YouTube. AM radio in Southern California, at it's best. Fond memories of a great station, wonderful voices and a soundtrack of our lives... 8)
