SONG OF THE YEAR

Billboard declared Black Eye Peas' "Boom Boom Pow" as the #1 song of 2009. "I Gotta Feelin'" was #4, with Lady Gaga taking the two middle spots.

My favorite of the year? "Obsessed" by Mariah Scary. I never liked ANY of her music before. This year, though, she scored.

My worst of the year? "Use Somebody" by Kings of Leon. My ears cringe when I hear that lead singer's voice .... and those lyrics were even worse.

What's yours?

"1901" by Phoenix. And that song *does* qualify for song of the year honors because Kid Kelly's CHR/Pop formatted Sirius 1 did give it ample airplay, and shame on the terrestrial CHRs for not doing the same!

Poker Face had more popularity among multiple formats and remains a strong recurrent as the year winds down. Boom Boom Pow was pretty much a CHR-only hit.

It's between Boom Boom Pow and Poker Face as far as CHR goes for me. And who would have thought the biggest hits this year would have those names for a song title.
