Songs being played on the radio

Just wondering if anyone has ever been thinking of a song then minutes later the exact song or artist is played. I forgot what this is called but this has happened to me many times so was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

One time years ago I bought a cassette, and as soon as I got it unwrapped as was about to stick it in my car stereo, the first song on the tape came on the radio.

I also used to listen to a Top 40 station whose playlist was so regimented that the same song would come on at the same time every morning. That continued for several weeks!

I actually was referring to the DJ actually reading say my mind then playing the songs, which brings me to another question, do radio stations have devices to know when you are actually tuned in say for ratings ?

There's the PPM, but I think you are asking if every radio being listened to can be tracked....and the answer is NO!

Yes, how does the PPM work ?

why not insert a device into every radio that transmts the listening info (frequency in use)when the radio itself is turned on?,...or some variation on that idea...
I just realized why....every radio station would buy a million radios and tune them into their station to rig the ratings...Only In America, kids!!!!

Yes. We read your mind to know what should be played. So keep listening or we're lost. Also, we know where you are at all times. Listening or not.

There are some times when I am thinking of a song and I turn on the radio and the same song is playing on the station it was last set to.

I can actually remember an instance in late 1978 when I found the same song ("How Much I Feel" by Ambrosia) playing simultaneously on 4 of my car stereo's pre-sets (WABC, WNBC, WYNY & 99X)! Needless to say, not one of my favs as I kept changing stations to find a song I wanted to listen to! LOL!
