Songs Not On CD or Almost Impossible to Find

The Beatles, "Penny Lane," the Rarities version with the seven extra trumpet notes at the end. The Anthology has an early version of it that has the seven extra notes on it, but that was before the overdubs were done.

all of the above songs are on you tube and can be downloaded and converted to mp3..there is a very user friendly and free software available, just for that purpose..

Tried downloading songs from You Tube before, and after converting to MP3, songs have a bad swirling, wavy sound....Not worth it.

Pulling stuff from YouTube gives some pretty poor audio from both the way its done and the fact that it may be poor quality that was uploaded in the first place, plus its probably not legal either.

my experience has been very positive, using Real Player software and the cleaning it up with adobe audition...and the additional plus is so much stereo stuff on You tube....I don't know what method the above two used, but again I say download the free real player software and try it...again I must note that I did clean it up 1. normalized to 100 percent, 2. clipped the intro and outro leader time..3. did clip restoration on some that were burned too hot

I plan on using alot of these downloads at a local radio station that wants to upgrade to stereo ,they were very impressed with the sound.

if your getting bad audio from youtube downloads..your not using the right software..i do it all the time and the quality is as good as the youtube version...note...i record them in real time..not as a file download...then on some songs will tweak the eq to make it sound better and fresher..i use a program that is probably 5 years old or older..and i'm sure considered outdated...but i have not found anything better that works as well...Roxio 7

I think the point regarding YouTube is that some people would rather buy it than steal it.

They're also looking for something that sounds better than a compressed audio track run alongside a compressed video. I suspect you have a different definition of "quality."

The original posts was about songs on CD. Chances are they're looking for songs on CD, not songs on YouTube.

some people would rather buy it than steal it....regarding this comment..there are some songs that just aren't available anywhere else...as someone that spent over 30 years in various areas of the music business, including studio work, live performances, radio, and most anything related to the business..i take exception that I have stolen anything...if that be the case..then You tube is rampant with pilfered music..and doing so without any apparent repercussions...i have over 4000 albums/singles that I have purchased over the last 40 odd years..so I don't think I have stolen anything.........

Here's a search tip. I use eBay as a learning experience. You can search for songs and artists by checking "include description" on your eBay searches. Songs and artists listed in the track listing will then be searchable. When You find what you're looking for, you now have a CD or album title to search for. You can buy from eBay or Amazon or you corner record store, once you know the album's title, thanks to the eBay search. Be sure to put the entire title in quotes as well as the artist's name, so other songs and artists with only some of the words don't show up. "The Entire Title" "Artist's Name"

Here's a couple that I haven't found on a CD... The two singles by THE BOYS IN THE BAND (1970)... "How About A Little Hand) For The Boys In The Band" and the non-hit followup ... "Money Music". I would hope that the two instrumental B-sides might be available as my B-side of "Money Music" has always skipped like crazy.

I'll throw one out there. Captain Howdy by Simon Stokes from 1974. Can't find it on CD anywhere.

Two 45s on eBay right now. Thanks a lot for reminding me about this. Something else to track down and digitize for my collection.
