This statement has been true since the first commercial station went on the air. The objective of the station was to sell something. In the process, it is necessary to provide some kind of content that listeners like to hear and that will cause them to tun in.

So, in the process of fulfilling the primary objective, selling advertising, raido has to provide a free and valuable service to listeners in order to attract them to the ad messages.

It has never been any different.
