Songs You Didn't Imagine To Hear On A CHR

It seems like all of the stations playing Black & Yellow are very rhythmic leaning (to the point were it really doesn't make since that they're on the CHR panel). Same goes for "No Hands", "Buzzin", "Deuces"......the CHR chart is being heavily skewed by rhythmics disguised as CHRs

Which is better than having Adult CHRs disguised as CHR/Pop as was the case in the mid 90s.

Why is it better? In '95 you had Gangsta's Paradise peaking around #20 - now you have September peaking around #20 - neither one is accurate IMO

Surprisingly, KIIS (nor is AMP, Power 106, and probably most, if not all the west coast hip-hop stations) isn't playing Waka Flocka Flame. I would think they would be on it since knowing they play "Black and Yellow"...

KPWR has been playing Waka Flocka Flame "No Hands" for months now. I heard it on Power 106 way before I heard it on Sirius XM Hip Hop Nation or any other urban based station.

You're right - "September" shouldn't have even made the Top 20 ;D

It would be nice if Urban's played "no love" by Eminem & Lil Wayne.

I don't get why Urban's won't play it. Seems they won't play Eminem. I can't remember if they played Eminem and Rhianna's song.

Love the Way You Lie went Top 10 on Urban, but Urbans did not play "Not Afraid" neither.

Eminem was huge on urban back in the early 2000s.

And 10 years later they won't, does that make sense?

Eminem has been crossover-pop since The Eminem Show. In fact he was primarily responsible for making hip-hop the dominant CHR music genre of the 2000s decade (back in the '90s many CHRs would shy away from rap). However, the Eminem of today is popular with suburban white kids and young adults but not as much among African-Americans, which is the primary target group of an urban radio station.
