And now for the truly obscure...

The radio spots running in our region (I hear them frequently on KTCK) for Sonic restaurants use a music snippet that sounds exactly like the longtime 1010/WINS ``Give us 22 minutes...'' bed.

Is that a snippet from a song or did Sonic arrange with Group W/Infinity/CBS to use that distinctive and catchy piece of music?

Thanks for remembering, Mike. I used to get a charge out of doing the legal ID since I grew up hearing similar wording on KDKA. Without getting into long-winded details and old stories, suffice it to say that Westinghouse was a very classy company.

Since I'm a P-1 between KTCK and WBAP, I guarantee I've heard you a LOT more on Mark Davis doing the traffic than you ever caught me on KQZY (or at least in this century).

...now about that 1010/WINS sig on the Sonic spot...
