SONIC RADIO

I was having a Sonicburger the other day sitting in my "slot" at the drive in and noticed their in-house (or out-house, but that doesn't sound right) audio on the speakers is their own radio station "Sonic Radio" and has air talent that apparently is live. They were doing nationwide shoutouts to Sonic crews here and there and even included one to a Bedford location while I was listening. The music is quite diverse, like Jack on steroids diverse. One minute country, next hip-hop, next an AC type song...obviously trying to appeal to all their customers from time to time. It's done professionally and of course includes plenty of Sonic commercials.
Just curious if anyone knows where this comes from and who is on it. The people I heard sounded pretty good.

Do they play the bed music from "sonic the hedgehog " video games?

We talked about the Sonic Radio thing a long time ago and I seriously was trying to find out where to apply. I'm dyin' to say "Do you want fries with that, sexy Bitch?" :) And my few trips to Sonic, I've heard it and it's NOT bad at all. Serious! :)

Wal Mart actually has that as well. If you happen to be in one of the stores late at night you will hear them geting rather wild on the air. They even have a number for store employs to use for requests and shoutouts. It's kind of funny to hear hard rock coming through the speakers at Wal Mart, however if you're there late at night you might hear some.

Wow Steve..that's a great topic. Here's only what I have heard..

I had "heard" that the programming is a 96kbps Internet stream not available to anyone without "clearance" and the proper URL. Then someone pointed to a blue KA band dish on top of the Sonic in Reno, NV..it might be sent over a private and encrypted sat system..Not sure..and NOWHERE on the web can I find anything out about it, Mr. Eberhardt is right..it DOES sound interesting..I'd listen to it at home of it were available..C'mon, someone on here must know something about it!

Another buddy of mine said he once saw the studio complex at the Sonic world headquarters, and it is awesome! Cherry wood cabinetry, and top of the line air consoles and computer music delivery. The studio door jambs are lined in Chinchilla to keep them from making any noise when they close and interrupt the jock's energy level.

A staff of girls in SONIC(tm) cheerleader outifts get limeaid, coffee, and onion rings for the air staff. Also board ops in tuxedoes and a full-time massage staff to keep the deejays comfy and stress free. There is a phone made of Scandinavian crystal and 24k gold that each jock has for use when on-air..and a free bar to keep them all "freed-up to entertain" as the managers there have been heard to say. Salary range is somewhere in the 350K range and all air shifts are 3 days on and 6 days off..3 hours a day..with 6 weeks paid vacation and company paid trips to a private SONIC(tm) island in the Galapigos'. Rumours are that they may move the Sonic Radio Operations (SRO) to the Caymen's to allow the airstaff to work tax-free..but that's probably a little far fetched.

Also my buddy has not been seen in months..perhaps they had him "silenced"
