Sooo, Free Beer & Hot Wings on Rock 103?

I’m going to take the high road and assume this was to ease the schedule stress on Bad Dog…I’ll just keep believing that.

Clear Channel is saving a few more pennies by adding Free Beer & Hot Wings. I doubt the stress on Bad Dog was any consideration.

By the way, what was the latest ratings for the morning show?

I'll go ahead and write it, even if it's in poor taste. Clear Channel may not have to concern itself with paying Bad Dog's salary much longer. Rock 103's best days are definitely in the rear view mirror.

Okay... to change the subject.

Did anybody listen to the new show today? I forgot and listened to D&Z like I always do. Are they any good? They appear to be in mostly small markets with Nashville possibly being the largest.

I'm always skeptical when transplanting Yankee (Great Lakes especially) shows to this market. Such as the Rover nosedive on 92.9.

Other than Nashville, Memphis, and Myrtle Beach, Free Beer and Hot Wings don't seem to be in any southern markets. Bob and Tom is a much more widely distributed show. Bob and Tom are on Z100 in Jonesboro. They are midwestern guys. It's seemed to work for them getting southern affiliates.

What a witty human being that Tim Spencer is.... Otto Mation!? Only ALF would laugh at that! And JOYFULLY? My achin ars......

The construction cones are being moved away from Clear Channel Classic Rocker WEGR (Rock 103)/Memphis , where the station underwent some jock movement: Things kicked off with the addition of the syndicated and delicious-sounding Free Beer & Hot Wings Show in mornings. The boys, based out of WGRD/Grand Rapids , take over for Bad Dog McCormack , who will now head to afternoons, where he will joyfully reunite with his old morning show partner OM Tim Spencer , who's currently occupying the shift but will graciously shove his chair over to make room for McCormack in the studio. "How cool is this? Bad Dog and I get to have all of the fun of a morning show and still sleep late," Spencer says, sounding like a man who definitely doesn't underestimate the value of a good night's sleep. And now that Nikki Sixx news you've been waiting for -- yes, Sixx Sense with Nikki Sixx annexes nights at Rock 103, filling a shift that had been running jockless thanks to the stylings of Mr. Otto Mation . Thankfully, despite the upheaval at Rock 103, something remains constant: The lovely Leslie Wolfe will continue handling middays.

WBUZ in Nashville dropped Bob and Tom and replaced them with Free Beer & Hot Wings. I don't know people in the Nashville industry, so I don't know the politics of it, but it's true.

I listened for fifteen minutes this morning. This is horrible. What a sophomoric attempt at a morning show. Carson Palmer (which is a months old sports story), babies crying, and Charo. Rover all over. At least they try to keep listeners by Brother Doug giving away Kid Rock tickets. They mention Memphians are emailing they do not like the show. If The Bob and Tom Show people are referring were the ones recently on WGN America cable station, they would be better than these yahoos. If these guys don't balance their sthick with classic rock, listeners will bolt to D&Z.

Free Beer & Hot Wings must be a show Rock 103 gets on the cheap. All hail Cheap Channel!

Yeah, Just a "Dollar three" with their "Rock 103 Card"! (adjusted for inflation since 1982 that would be $28.32)

Do you remember: Cheap Sunglasses for a dollar three, the "Living Room Concert", The party test...."if this had been an actual party, you would have been instructed to get horizontal"? and I remember the Tommy Two Tone song was changed to .....5359103. The most coveted item to have when I was in High School in N.E. Arkansas was a Walrus License Plate on your car! The station just aint the same. :( -P.J.

Free Beer & Hot Wings is the final nail in the coffin for the radio station. Their ratings were not very stellar and they have some expensive talent.

This does not compute in the new Clear Channel Business Metrics.

Everything is evaluated based on revenue generation.

Drake & Zeke rule the roost.

Goodbye Rock 103.

As I understand it, Cumulus outbid Cromwell for the rights to Bob & Tom in Nashville, and Cumulus put B&T on WRQQ. Cromwell countered at that point by bringing in Free Beer & Hot Wings to fill the void in morning drive on WBUZ.

What on earth is the attraction of Bob and Tom? That has to be the most corny and simplistic radio show of all time. The forced laughter at the all too often lame jokes and comments is an insult to most people's intelligence. The John Boy and Billy Show is not much better - little more than redneck humor. It will be hard to replace the former 90's Wake Up Crew of Tim, Bev, and Bad Dog poking fun at local topics.

Hard? Impossible!
