sorry.... another profm question

i worked the overnight lastnight (sat-into sun) and the radio was on profm and jay buff was doing the overnight shift... im wondering why they would have someone on air live one-or two weekend overnights every so often (its not the first time ive heard him do that shift) when they dont even go live after 6pm weeknights anymore or overnights during the week when theres prolly more people listining..... and sources tell me jay is live on that shift... i dunno just a thought i had

Maybe he'd just rather be live and is ambitious. I mean when you part time only and end up voicetracking why bother? Full timers voicetracking weekends may be something out of their control but a weekender having to track seems a waste of the person's time to me.

Regardless of the hour, there's still a comforting factor with a live announcer who can do an on-air shift, check the wire service and the internet.

Granted...having a live body at a radio station costs extra money. But it's definitely a good investment for the listeners who ENJOY your format! :)

I can't believe anyone has thought of this yet, but is there a pretty good chance that he was voicetracked?

he was not voice tracked...... that i know for sure........ through sources and usually jay does not voice track...... i think what he does is when ever hes home from school tony lets him work whatever shift is available witch i think is a good thing........ im willing to bet that when school is out in may for the summer.. austin takes a back seat from tracking and jay takes over nights again live

Wow, a source??? Well, tell deep-throat that he was voicetracked. I'm afraid your source is wrong my friend.

He was voice-tracked. Stop being in denial.

first of all i could care less if he was.... but like a previous poster said about weekend voice trackers whats the point when they can have the full timers do it.......... so if he was (and ill belive you guys that he was) why the hell would any weekender wanna voice track period.... let alone a weekend overnight shift..... thats just stupid..... but goes to show yuo like many people have said before.... if a young kid just starting out gets to voice track weekend overnights... i hope he doent plan on a living in radio
