I guess this move would make sense, in that Bonaduce himself was well-known to Philadelphians during many of the years from which the playlist is based on. (Even though the music he played on Eagle 106 was on a much different wavelength.)

Gross said that Bonaduce was "among a small group" of names considered for the WYSP morning show. Since Bonaduce currently hosts a one-hour talk show on sister station 97.1 Free-FM in L.A. - yes, there still is one station with the "Free-FM" name after all these years - it would be easier to choose him for the 'YSP gig. Plus, as you read above, he would move back to Philly "in a heartbeat".
