Sort of a RMS update.

I just think that curious minds want to know and Ritchie is one of them.

Seems Russ has a lot more power than I thought, I said from the start he would walk smelling like a rose.

Where in Witt's post is there any indication that RM has "power." It's a slow system. RM is no better or worse off now than he was.

My neighbor stretched an "Assault on An Elderly" out 4 years. She wound up getting a $100 fine. The DA was asking for 20 years. I'm sure with the pull Russ has he'll fare about the same in the end.

If the police think Russ beat up his girlfriend, then his pull went to zero in a hurry. The police aren't stupid. A law-abiding citizen who supports their department is one thing. A woman beater is another.

I guess it comes down to what the police think of the evidence.

It doesn't matter what the police think of the evidence. What matters next is what the people on the grand jury think about the evidence. After that, if he is indicted, what matters is what the D.A.'s office thinks about the evidence. A plea bargain to a lesser charge with probation is the most likely result.

If I'm not mistaken, in a case centered around physical assault, the victim needs to agree to the plea to a lesser charge.
