Sound Solution : I'm about there.

From the prior post on Sound Solution. Everything's connected and working. I thought i'd never see the day. The only problem is that I get intermittent static on my output signal. What was it that I did wrong? (even though it's working). I also had to turn down the output level down to 10% on the SS because of echo reverb. What should I adjust between the OTS>SS>Winamp?

The static might be caused by lack of CPU time. You might want to experiment with increasing the priority level of the plug-in. Use the CTRL+ALT+DELETE and open the Task Manager. Click on the Processes tab.

Find the program's file name. You're on your own here because I don't know it. Right click on the file name. It will almost certainly show "Normal" priority. Increase it slightly, maybe one notch to "Above Normal."

This should give just this one process a few extra ticks of CPU time, hopefully enough to get rid of the static. Careful though, you don't want to hog too much or it will make the other programs jealous.

Um. What?

Open winamp, load the SS plugin, turn on 75us preemphasis. Go to radio shack and buy some diodes/pots/connectors and a breadboard...put together a high frequency limiter (use LEDs for the inner loop if you want to see when it's active). If you REALLY want to max out the RMS, put together a mini AGC circuit on the breadboard. Put that into your exciter.

Let me hear an aircheck of the static.
______________

Doing that will destabalize the entire operating system. DON'T EVER touch the windows process priority....only use ones within the program and always do so with caution.
______________

I'm so glad I read both of your response. I'm not that technical, but you can monitor the static on [email protected]. It's on now. Maybe you can tell what it is. Thanks.

I'm getting levels playing my automated OTS juke box software >sound
solution>winamp. The problem is when I turn the sound solution output
levels over 50%, I get reverb, especially with the win amp volume up
high as well. I checked my computer sound card as I turn my volume of
that down, the reverb and feedback goes away, and so does the audio.
When I only turn my win amp volume down low, I don't get the wide
dynamic output levels from the sound solution like I should have. Do
you think it's a computer soundcard problem? Or where would this extra
feed back or reverb sound coming from, especially when I have the SS
output level and the win amp level high.
