Sounds on 102.5

Seems like the Sounds on AM 560 would be a natural fit for each other, but I don't listen to much sports radio, so what do I know? I don't know what 560 is carrying on summer evenings now, but I can't help but think that the Sounds, if properly promoted, might actually be a better draw for them, versus whatever they are carrying at night now. And since summer evenings have longer daylight, they might actually be able to carry much of the games on day power.

Yeah, I know, no one listens to AM radio anymore, and it seems like from reading this thread, no one really listens to the Sounds either, so what have they got to lose? ::)

WNSR has the Braves now. They just announced that a couple of weeks ago. Still not Earth-shattering, but a better pickup than the Sounds. People actually care about MLB.

Braves would be a good catch for 560, but I can't help but think that they (Braves) would be seeking out an FM signal around here somewhere.

Anyone know if 560 broadcasts online? I figure that that would be a necessity for an AM (only) signal these days. I know that they have an FM simulcaster in Kentucky, but isn't that too far away for Nashvillians to pick up?

WGNS 1450 AM out of Murfreesboro had been carrying the Braves games since I moved to Smyrna in 1998 and they have been simulcasting on both 100.5 FM and 101.9 FM for a few years now. How far their signal goes into Nashville, I just don't know.

Those two signals barely cover Murfreesboro. WANT was on those two translators until they were sold to WGNS a few years ago when the AM-to-FM-translator thing was approved by the FCC.
