The link for the 92.3 Now FM stream works with the calls "WNOW" just change the calls at the end of the link to WNOW. Guess this is another sign to show that CBS Radio owns the calls.

http://player.play.it/player/player.html?v=4.4.35&id=155&onestat=wxrk-fm

http://player.play.it/player/player.html?v=4.4.35&id=155&onestat=wnow

I just tried 5 different call letters at the end of that link and they ALL redirected to NowFM. Which leads me to believe that the end of that link means nothing.

He's right.

Just go straight to the URL without the suffix and you'll still get the 92.3 FM stream:
http://player.play.it/player/player.html?v=4.4.35&id=155

I hope 92.3 kicks Z100's butt! Z100 has been resting on it's CHR King's throne long enough. The competition should scare the heck out of them. It will probably take a few Arb books to knock Z100 down a few notches. ;D

Just curious...why do they need to be knocked down a few notches? Do you feel they haven't done a nice job wth the format or do you just not like people to be successful? Personally I like to see quality people who do quality work do well.

Z100 has been at the top of the NYC CHR mountain long enough. The playing field should leveled. It will be soon! ;D

Yep, I just deleted everything till the ? in the link and it still works. So why does the CBS web person need to bother adding the rest. Seems kind of pointless. I don't see why they don't just use the stream link then use the callsign would be easier in my opinion.

Sir,

I just tried 5 different call letters at the end of that link and they ALL redirected to NowFM. Which leads me to believe that the end of that link means nothing.

Cheers.

The end of the link (everything after the ?) is a query string. They're probably using the last field (&onestat=wnow) to collect data about the request being made. In turn, you probably just told them that you accessed the stream with their new call letters in the the "onestat" field. :)

Web developers use query strings to create different behaviors for a player or even to collect data about where the request is coming from. They may use that URL in several places with different query strings to track which player is performing.

Bet you can guess what I did and still do for a living.

Elvis Duran in the morning on Z100 needs to be replaced he's what 50 years old on a top 40 station ?

Time for 92.3 to shake up mornings

Elvis is 55 and just signed a five year extension. You could say he's the east coast version of Seacrest and seems to be doing well for Z100 and the syndicate of stations he appears on as part of CCM+E's Premier programming.

Now-FM that is based on the San Francisco CHR Brand called 99.7 Now KMVQ-FM a CBS O&O. I know AMP is the LA CBS O&O CHR brand for 97.1 FM and other markets where CBS has the CHR Format.

@Mike: It's not like 92.3 has a choice to fix mornings - they were doing okay with Nick Cannon until he abruptly stepped aside a few months ago.

Alot of talent comes out of Houston. Elvis Duran is one of them working at KRBE in the late 80s. He sounds nothing like he did in those days. Paul Cubby Bryant also
