South 107 moving to 93.5

I'm thinkin' / guessin' something similar to Chuck FM, or some kind of young rock. This format wouldn't hurt any B98, or The River.

If Cox did indeed put variety hits or soft AC / very soft AC on 107.1. this would at least partially fill the predominent format hole in the market. As an added bonus, Cox would have somewhere to put 24/7 Christmas music which ATL has been lacking since 2011. Something to think about...

Cox launching two alternatives accordingl to Whois.com
X1071atlanta.com
X1073orlando.com

Atlanta has been without 24/7 Christmas music. However, that was not something "lacking", it was a blessing.

I was holding out for the All Druid Weekend, to include (for the Solstice) a large bonfire in Piedmont park at which we'd all take nekkid and dance in the moonlight.

What you hear in Orlando on X1073orlando.com is what you'll hear next week in ATL

12/23/2014 is on a Tuesday. You could look it up.

As for the actual intent of your post, I couldn't figure out what the hell you were talking about. Regardless of what day of the week the 23rd will be in 2014, what do you mean by it being the "big day"? Big day for what? What does it have to do with this thread? Just what are you talking about?

Brevity might be a virtue, but not when your meaning is obscure.

I dunno but I'm about ready to create flyers for advertisement to let EVERYONE know that the board is back. Radio format change would have 10+ pages of predictions and arguments on what will happen. I miss the old days.

So my predictions:

1- Active Rock
2- Variety Hits (70s, 80s, 90s)

I'm leaning in the Variety Hits direction only because no spot has been registered for anything really "rock" oriented.

South 107 is now identifying on 93.5 so apparently they have already moved. Listened for a few minutes this afternoon in the car, and it really sounds silly for a local greengrocery store in Rockmart, GA give their weekly specials.

Every time rome has something that works... the big city sales comes in and scoops it up.. south 107, is the cash cow for something or another. and cox knows it. cox, clear channel citadel, or other big radio is buying up everything...its no surprise... but rome radio has been hideous for years since wqen left the area, wkls (the alabama new rock105) left the area, and wkcx was sold..its just one big syndication-blob block of extremely boring radio..thank goodness for the internet so we can hear i heart radio from some far away place like LA.. or houston , new york... or even jacksonville florida...so i just record the south 107 jingle for nostalgia buffs... to be on youtube... before it disappears

From 93.5 website.

To Our South Listeners:

We know that many who listen to South 107 have questions about why South is moving to 93.5 FM. Since April 1, 2009, RRP, LLC has “leased” the 107.1 FM Frequency. The easiest way to explain our situation is similar to renting a house. In our case, the lease on our “house” that we have lived in for 26 years is being transferred to someone else. The owner of the frequency of 107 received a great financial offer that would be hard for anyone to refuse. So, we’re moving South to our “new house” at 93.5 FM.

South 93.5 will be the same great radio station you’ve enjoyed for so long. Moby, Monica, Kevin, Julie, and Rick will continue to play Today’s Best Country on South 93.5. Don’t forget to lock in South 93.5 as a “preset” on your car radio, and tune your other radios to 93.5 as well.

By the way, you can always stream us online at South935.com, hit the listen button, and listen to South anywhere in the world.

Thanks for being the best radio listeners in America!
