South Bevins Passing

South Bevins

South Clinton Bevins of Pineville, KY, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011. Born in McCombs, KY, on July 21, 1930, he was the only child of Grady and Martha Bevins. He arrived in Pineville in March of 1957 and founded the radio station WMLF, which later became WANO 1230 AM. He also owned and operated KLER-VU Cable TV, delivering cable service throughout Bell County until his retirement in the mid-1980s.
South also started WIRV Irvine and WIXI Lancaster KY.
