South Carolina Daytimer on at Night

West Central Georgia

WAHT Cowpens/Spartanburg SC 1560am 15000D/870C CBS Sports "The Roar" has been broadcasting on day power at night the last few evenings, with a good signal here in West Georgia. This could be another opportunity to catch a South Carolina station.

Thans for the tip. I'll give it a try.

Another Daytime SC Station Broadcasting at Night

Another South Carolina opportunity:

WWOS 810 am Walterboro SC 5000 Day only Religious broadcasting was logged here in Georgia around midnight with a good signal.

Seems to be a hobby for SC daytimers to forget to flip the switch at night.

These rules don't seem to get enforced anymore.

I see their signal is 15,000 watts, non directional, and it's a high frequency on the AM band.

That would be an great catch here at night.

Thanks for the heads up!

DXers in the Northeast may need to wait until after 11:15 PM EDT to pick them up, because 1560 WFME in NYC doesn't switch to their nighttime pattern until sunset at 1560 KNZR in Bakersfield, CA (8:15 PM PDT in July).

I was checking out 1560 this morning a little before 5am CDT. About a half hour before local sunrise. At first, the channel was a jumble of weak signals. Then just after 5, WAHT showed up on top. I'm guessing they had just powered up, because there was no trace of them for about ten minutes leading up to the TOH. The signal was fair. Far from overwhelming, but strong enough to blow out everything else. It lasted for about fifteen minutes, then faded into what was left of the slop.

I checked 1560 again a little before midnight last night CDT (July 2). No trace of WAHT, so I guess they're now behaving themselves.
