South Florida is oversaturated with sports talk

In Miami/Fort Lauderdale (where all the stations can also be heard in nearby West Palm Beach/Boca), there are -

560AM
790AM with a simulcast on 104.3 in West Palm Beach, with an application to move the tower to Miami.
940AM
1210AM (ESPN Deportes)

In West Palm Beach/Boca Raton (where most stations can be heard in Miami)

760AM now being simulcast on 106.3 (neither station has much of a signal in Miami/Fort Lauderdale)
640AM with a very big signal into Miami

That's a total (including simulcasts) of 8 full-time sports talk stations; 7 in English and one in Spanish. (I'm not including HD channels since they have zero impact.)

Is there any other area with so much sports talk?

Can all these stations be making money? There has to be a saturation point. 560.790 and 940 are excellent signals. It would be nice to have a little diversity. I remember when they were all interesting talk stations with people like Al Rantel, Neil Rogers, Stan Major and others.

Indeed, with 640 and 104.3 also running sports formats, South Florida has too many sports stations.

Not every one enjoys sports.
