"South Park" Catches Heat For Mohammed Depiction

A Muslim group says that the depiction of the Prophet Muhammad in a recent episode is "stupid." At one point on the April 14 episode, he was shown behind a "censored" bar, and later in a bear suit.

This actually was not time Mohammed was referred to on the show. There was an episode that spoofed "Super Friends" in which Mohammed was satirized; then, there is the "South Park vs. Family Guy" two-part episode that made light of the editorial cartoon depiction of Mohammed - which, I believe, inspired the creators to mock the Prophet in the first place.

Looks like Comedy Central did something about the recent episode, 200 and even "Super Best Friends"...they pulled those episodes from South Park Studios (the official site for the show) iTunes and even Video on Demand services, and even future airings of "201" have been replaced with other episodes.
Any other place I could watch this episode? I missed it on Wednesday night...

I simply don't understand why they are
being so odd about all this.
Ah Well.

Apparently, cultural sensitivity is a relative thing as far as big media is concerned.

Are they going to change the opening of the syndicated version which shows Muhammad twice (once flying with the SBFs and again in the crowd behind the South Park sign)? Are they going to change the openings (on Comedy Central) where Muhammad is seen flying and in the crowd? What about the DVDs in circulation?

IMHO they should give up this silly censorship. Muhammad was portrayed with great respect as was Jesus, Buddha, Krishna and Joseph Smith. Can't say the same for seman, er, Sea Man. :D

To quote calculus - and it's rare that anybody quotes calculus - "if A, then B."

I also wonder if the "South Park vs. Family Guy" two-parter - which heavily refers to Muhammad - will ever be seen again.
