The San Diego Non-Commercial TV station KPBS as KEBS-TV, and it first went on the air on June 25th, 1967. But by October 1, 1970!! the call letters for KEBS have NOW changed to KPBS-TV!! And then on October 5th, 1970, NET(National Educational Television) officially became the Public Broadcasting Service, or PBS for short. The station just for Monday-Fridays, and then on Sundays for its first ever 5 years!!
KPBS did broadcast Saturdays by November 21, 1970 just 5 times of repeats of Sesame Street, But then, ALL WENT WELL, but KPBS was in danger because of precariouness of state support and cuts in grants since early February 1971, so then it now turns to the community for financial support and since its FIRST EVER TV On-Air Membership Campaign began February 14, 1971 and it now conducts Pledge Nights from 3 times each month throughout every year(1971 to 1973), ALL WENT WELL until the station is in danger AGAIN because its budget for state funds has been SLASHED by the state of California on June 1971 and Saturdays for Sesame Street at that same time have gone, and for that POINT, KPBS is now conducting MORE Pledge Nights from 3 times each month throughout every year(1971 to 1973) to keep the non-commercial station going strong from Viewers Like You and by 1974 through today...NOW conducting Membership Campaigns 4 months a year(4 times)-March(3 weeks), June, August and December(2 weeks)!! Then on May 1974 through June 1987...The KPBS Auction from 5 nights through 9 nights at that Time!!
NOTE: KPBS didn't broadcast Saturdays again until September 1972!!

 I am still trying to decipher the combination of your syntax, the run-on sentences punctuated almost entirely by exclamation points, use of the present rather than past tense, and newspaper articles which are essentially unreadable because of cropping.

But I think there was something relevant in there someplace ...

This was the premiere date for CBS's Saturday kidvid shows. NBC and ABC had theirs the week prior.

I am guessing the listings of Untamed World and Storybook Squares on the NBC channels is a misprint as Heckle & Jeckle occupied that time period starting the week prior and Storybook Squares ended August 30.

All I know is what I saw in print. Back then there were no national listings services for newspapers so the Times would have manually entered whatever was in the schedules provided to them by the local stations.
