I recently purchased a Sparkelec DP-666 DSP FM/AM/SW receiver on the recommendation of a Radio World article. The FM section is quite good.
On scanning the band, I noticed that the 90.3 pirate from southern Frederick County appears to be back. I first mentioned this pirate back in 2018. The music's been updated a bit to 60s-70s classic hits and the non-music features are missing, but the signal coverage seems to be the same as the original pirate, who the FCC eventually tracked to Adamstown, MD.
If it's the same guy, it seems foolish on his part as the FCC sent him a ceast and desist letter in 2022, after which he seems to have vanished for awhile.
I'd be interested in signal reports from anyone who frequents southern Frederick county. The signal's in stereo and is running 24-7.
Ponderous!
