Southern Fried Friday Night

I was flipping through the radio last night I heard something I didn't expect to hear on Eagle. I heard Southern rock. I immediately had the urge to come and announce a format flip but I decided to listen for a while to see if this was just an anomaly. It was. Apparently Eagle 106.7 plays Southern rock on Friday nights. Is this new or something that has been going on for awhile? If this is new (since 96 Rock imploded) I think this is a smart way to get some of those listeners at least for one night of the week anyway.

Also if this is new and Lite flips to Country is there a chance that Eagle will mix in Southern Rock into its playlist and become a hybrid?

Southern Fried On Friday on Eagle 106.7 is a test to see how well it is received. If so expect to hear more of the same. Personally I think it is a good move with good host's that know the music. If you like it let-em know!

What tipped me off was hearing an awesome live version of Stormy Monday Blues (big blues fan here) then I heard some of the banter which sounded like 96 Rock sort of thing. I really liked it.
