Southside Steve back with the Regular Guys!

I have a friend that says Southside Shirley is coming back. With Virgin Murray departing, and all the guys that fired Southside gone, it opens the door for his return. Could this be true? Would the RG's take him back? I do think the show was better when he was on. Better for Larry and Eric to go after Steve than go after each other...

As the wife and I were just reading this post, she exclaims, GOD I hope not! He was a no talent bum, who only knows one phrase, and for the most part is a REDNECK.
Don't we have enough of those here already? There's plenty a country station that would need a talent of this calibre, so why bring back southside stupid?

It would be great, Ben the bunnyman is the bottom of the barrel

Any decision on Southside returning will have to be approved by me... at least through Wenesday morning.

Anyone know a good mover?

Absolutely bring him back. A successful show is due to the sum of its parts...and it's missing some parts that were working before...

I remember when Steve starting interning at 96 Rock.
I would have the teeshirts and backstage passes....but all the women were hangin' all over SouthSide.....and that was BEFORE he had even uttered one "C'mon" into a microphone. The man is a true chick magnet!
Radio Theory # 16: Chick magnets usually make good radio talent.
And Steve's a nice guy too! (And so is his mom....I used to rent storage from her and she took my post dated checks.)
Hope he makes it back!

Guess I should have added my two cents... I've always said Southside needed to be on the show. He provides a great balance to Larry and Eric. Dano, I like the comment about a successful show being due to the sum of its parts - very true.

Yeah C'mon...bring him back. No matter how smart Larry and Eric are, Steve offers a unique angle to the show - a very Atlanta angle, that any show is lucky to have.

How about dumping the Regular Guys period. 96Rock needs to be what it once was.
I listened to the the other day for about 30min and it was awful. They are not funny.
They are not at all entertaining. 96Rock was much better off with Chrisopher Rude and
playing a little music in the morning.

They need him to balance the show. Right now it's a bit like low-brow talk radio. I'd like to see him return to bring the Atlanta ignorance back. I'm allowed to say this since I'm a Georgia native. :-D

Larry announced this morning that, if the poll from the Regular Guys site comes out in Southside Steve's favor, he will be on the show as of Monday morning. Larry is going to keep the poll up until midnight Saturday.

Safe to say, Steve will more than likely be back Monday.

I call 'radio stunt'. We'll see. I would be surprised if he ever returns.

I agree that it is most definitely a radio stunt. But, I think the stunt is that they already plan to have Steve back on Monday regardless.

I think that it can only help them by bringing him back. The show's a little stale at this point.

But I'd make him cut his hair before I'd let him back.....

The stunt is he is already coming back but why not add a little drama and make it seem like the listeners chose. When the poll first went up it was not like his fate hung in the balance. I am sure once that it seemed the votw was going to go his way they added it in that the poll mattered.
