Sox game on NESN and ESPN in RI

Today's Red Sox and Yankees game was on both NESN and ESPN. It was cool to see both points of view for such a big game, but should this have happened? With the game on NESN, wasn't it supposed to be blacked out on ESPN in this area? Usually when NESN is covering a game and ESPN is also covering the same game, ESPN shows a different game. <P ID="signature">______________

ESPN's coverage was sort of a last second deal.


INHD1 was blacked out,but ESPNHD wasn't (not sure about the SD version,I don't get that :)
 
I may be wrong, but I thought that ESPN's broadcasts of games with the Red Sox only had to be blacked-out within 35 miles of Boston (or Fenway Park). I don't think any part of Rhode Island is within 35 miles of Boston (or Fenway).
 
Don't know, but I caught it too, and it was the first game this year on ESPN, also showing on NESN, that wasn't blacked out. I assumed it was a mistake.

The same thing happened with the Yankee Game. I live in Connecticut and the Yankees Game was on both The Yes Network (The regular Yankees Station) and ESPN. All the other times the Yankees were on both ESPN and The Yes Network, ESPN was always blacked out.
