Sox on RKO, EEI, or both?

WEEI has been saying you should tune to 850 for tomorrow night's Sox playoff game but WRKO is
now running ads saying they're the exclusive LOCAL home for the Sox games, etc (voice sounds
like Pete Gustin). I get the feeling they'll be on both stations.
They urge people to turn down the TV sound and listen to Sox coverage...

I wonder if ESPN Boston is being allowed to pick up the feed of the ESPN coverage...
also what about other Sox affiliates--are they not being allowed to carry Sox
network coverage during playoffs, are will they? or is ESPN doing an exclusive
in those markets. How about affiliates close by like WBOQ and WCRN.

to answer my own question in part...WRKO site says WEEI has game 1 tomorrow and a poss. game 5
next Wed.

WRKO is your Red Sox Station! Except When They're Not On WRKO!
For those who can't pick up WEEI as well...like me, at work...a drag.
You mean Savage is more important than the Sox playoffs? Oh,
and WRKO is throwing a party at Boston Billiard Club even
though the game won't be on RKO.

AKA Total mess . Last night , I wanted to watch The National League Tie-braking Baseball Game ( after The Pats game was over ), I turn to Fox 25 ( No Baseball ) , I turn to all The ESPN Stations ( No Baseball ) . What The Flying F/// ! This F///ing baseball game is not on National TV ! What a shame ! I found out this morning ( well after The baseball game was over ), The Baseball game was on TBS . I Thought TBS only Broadcast Atlanta Brave's games . Entercom and MLB starting to be like the NHL ( Where The Hell is The Versus channel ? ) .

Perhaps I can offer a few suggestions that always work for me. 1. Turn to the channel that runs the program listings (around here, it's the TV Guide Channel) and see what station is carrying the game. 2. If you don't want to check the listings, just channel surf until you find a baseball game being played by people wearing the uniforms of the Padres and Rockies.

Yes, it's a little late now, but nobody knew you had a problem until you mentioned it. Might come in handy next year, though. Not to mention for the rest of this year's playoffs, which are on Fox and TBS.

Regards,
TSB

Thank You . I will watch this game on ESPN/Classic channel soon . This baseball game should be still going on (Replay show, He Didnt Touch Home plate ).

The Rockies-Padres game was indeed on 890/1400, which I could barely pick up at work. I tried a bunch
of diff. stations including ESPN NY 1050 which was running hours-old Jim Rome! Then I noticed in
one of the Boston papers that "890" was listed as carrying the game and sure enough it was. WEAK
signal.
As for TV: ALDS and NLDS: TBS
ALCS: Fox
NLCS: TBS
World Series: Fox

>>ESPN Radio (890) is apparently carrying the games, too

That's what I thought I had heard; note the WRKO promos are saying tune in for LOCAL coverage of
the game! Then it says "so turn your TV sound down and turn us up" as if to say, listen to our
coverage instead of TBS on TV...when what they really mean is listen to us instead of ESPN Radio!

As for TBS I thought I'd read that they would be carrying some baseball playoffs this yr but I didn't
know it would be ALL of the division series, plus the NLCS. That's right: no NLCS on broadcast TV.
Wait till the World Series goes cable-only, too. Only Bud Light Selig probably wouldn't let it go that far.

Seems to me it's just more organized to keep your sports programming on your sports station, if your cluster has one. (That is if it doesn't conflict with something MORE important... sorry, Celts ain't one of them.)

The listeners shouldn't have to deal with this. They should be like Pavlov's dog - trained to hit one button to hear the game on the radio. Your station. Period. Anything else is horrible marketing and product placement.

Not to mention that Entercom is making a premier product look like a disorganized mess.
