Spanish Language on 550 AM

KTSA in San Antonio has been off the air and I thought I would try for either KTRS or even KFYR. The noise ceiling in San Antonio was pretty high, but when I reached Canyon Lake (35 miles north), I was receiving a weak signal from a station broadcasting in Spanish. My first thought was something out of Mexico, but with it still somewhat light (just before 8PM CDT), I was also thinking Cuba. Does Cuba have anything at 550 that would make it to South Central Texas?
The KTSA translator was doing fine on 107.1.

Reportedly, there is a 10 to 12 kw station on 550 in Pinar de Rico, the westernmost big city in Cuba which is due south of Pensacola. But there are several Mexican stations still on 550, and the farther south you get, the earlier the sunset is in the summer.
