About 8 PM CST, last night, I was getting a fairly strong signal of spanish talk and music on 1610. This is the first time I've ever heard anything on 1610 at all. I'm in north Alabama. Any ideas?

Most likely you heard CHHA, Toronto. I've heard them here in Chicago on several occasions with Spanish language programming.<P ID="signature">______________
