I have been hearing a Spanish station on 89.3 in the Cranston and Warwick areas for the last few days. Any ideas what it could be? <P ID="signature">______________
Moe: (Sees a microphone in a radio studio) Ooh, a microphonie!

Curly: Or a phoney at the mike!

Moe: Quiet numbskulls I'm broadcastin'!

From The Three Stooges episode "Micro-Phoneys"</P>

Funny.. I heard the same thing last night driving on Route 24 in the Bridgewater area.. It almost sounded like an internet stream being rebroadcast over 89.3.

I think it's a small "network" of Spanish pirates with transmitters in various areas around eastern MA and RI on 89.3.

The ones in the Boston/Randolph/Brockton are not spanish, they're Hatian. They seem to have multiple transmitters, and get out VERY well.

There's probably a seperate pirate down in RI broadcasting in Spanish.

They'll all be gone soon. One of the college stations in the area is preparing to move to the frequency.
