spanish on ch47 in VA/MD/DC area?

Some pretty good tropo here in Central VA last night. Not a record breaking day for distance, but I did received some distant signals more clearly than ever. Got WVIR29 Charlottesville (about 75 miles away) looking like a local, and also some very strong signals from Baltimore (WUTB24) and Washington (WFDC14). Did catch one new station tht I can't identify it's on 47. Pretty weak signal, but I could hear audio and could tell it was a Spanish language station. nothing on w9wi.com that fits that criteria...anyone have any ideas what it could have been? Thanks in advance...

Using the FCC's TV Query, I'm leaning toward WNJU Linden, NJ, which is the Telemundo affiliate for the NYC area. Since they're broadcasting with over 4 million watts @ 1500 feet, and they're in the same general direction of the DC/Baltimore tropo, that's probably the best bet. If so, good catch!

What are you using for an antenna?

Depending on his distance from DC, that would be an extremely difficult catch given their power, but then he did say D.C. was coming in quite strong. I didn't see that channel 47 in my search, so I guess that would be a better bet than NYC's Telemundo.

Thanks to you both for your replies! I had never seen the FCC TV query before, that's an amazing tool.
I'm about 120 highway miles from DC (any online tool to calculate line of sight distances? I haven't seen that yet)
last night's tropo seemed VERY directional to the DC/BAL area, nothing at all to the south or east--even the stations only 70-80 miles away to the east in the Norfolk metro were barely visible.
I'm inclined to think that it was WMDO in DC, just because I've never logged anything further than Philadelphia. But I'll keep watching...WNJU would be amazing

Also FWIW, my, um, "antenna" for the moment is merely a Zenith <a href=http://www.zenith.com/sub_prod/product_Display.asp?cat=49&id=131>Silver Sensor</a>, which I've been waving around my living room all summer long. We just moved and I have a new baby, but I'm hoping to upgrade the antenna situation later this year (I'm wide open for suggestions!)

(I suppose the latter is a bit too far north for the conditions you were experiencing. It was probably WMDO.)
