Spanish radio - Upstate

In the Upstate we have quite a few Spanish stations

103.9 - WOLI-FM
105.3 - WNOW
1440 - WGVL
1580 - WDAB
1260 - WPJF
910 - WOLI-AM

Any affluent Spanish speakers out there that can distinguish between the formats on these stations? Wasn't the agreement when 1260/WPJF was sold by BJU that it remain a religious station, thus we get Spanish Religious on there? I believe 910 is religious also. Are the above stations mainstream Spanish, Tropical, Regional Mexican, or what? There are quite a bit out there, so I'm assuming each one caters to a certain group, just like the english speaking stations.

Surprising that of all of the above, only WOLI-FM shows in the ratings, with like a 0.1 share. One would wonder how many are listening to 1580 and 1440, given the good signal WOLI puts out in those areas and the tiny share they manage to get.

All I know is that WDAB 1580 "La Poderosa 1580" isn't doing so well in the $$ department, revenue is down for them.

Thanks radioguy. Never have been able to get 'DAB very well where I am. I would imagine 103.9 has hurt a lot of the Spanish AMs...since their primary coverage is where a lot of the Hispanics live in the Greenville area.

i have been told that spanish radio is different here because of the various types of latin people that are moving here. there are people from all over the world that speak spanish from many different countries. they all have their own music. you can't blend the types because you will please no one.

I was on I-40 looking to see if I could pick up WTZQ 1600 when they still played standards. I found WDAB and it sounded good. Not only standards, but a good standards format.

They should do that again!
