Folks, why there is no Spanish Recuerdo Oldies format in NYC on FM or any on HD Radio stations for ninguno since Señora Música host programming by Sundays 7-10AM has been cancelled on 105.9 La Kalle since 12/28/08 and it's no place like listening Spanish Oldies in NYC.

Perhaps their thinking is that they'd make more money by marketing to the younger demographics.

The average age of the "Recuerdo(tm)" adult hits format in the Southwest is around 37, and in a number of markets like Dallas and Chicago they are #1 or #2 in 25-34 listeners. The copies like José, Preciosa, etc., have similar demos.

This thread header mistakenly calls the format "oldies" which makes one think of 60's music. The Recuerdo stations have currents and lots of recent hits, as well as several decades of favorites. However, all are targeted to Mexican audiences, and that may be the real issue, unless Vicente Fernández starts recording with Willy Colon's band like Ruebén Blades did.

How many hispanic people wants to have Recuerdo format in NYC at least not on HD1, it's HD2 only since on July 12, 2007, WCBS-FM 101.1 Classic Hits is back after Jack FM format ended on the run?

It would be perfect for overnight and weak dayparts on WADO 1280!

The Recuerdo (sm) fromat has an average age of 36 nationally, and it would not work on AM... it's been tried.
