Speaking of ch.11 News...

Ever noticed how ch.11(DFW that is...) looks like they have FOX News envy? They were using the rotating logo even before FOX4. And, they have "LIVE" supered over a waving flag in the upper left corner. Is this what all CBS O&O stations news all look like, or is it individual?

"What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun." (Ecclesiastes 1:9, Revised Standard Version) In other words, nothing you see on TV is "new," it's all been done before somewhere, by somebody, and somebody else saw it and thought, "Gee, that's a great idea! Think I'll rip that off!"

Blame it on the equipment. When a CG can do things that it used to take a graphics computer to do, live, without too much forethought from the operator...well, people can get pretty silly with it. Same with these switchers that can do graphical transitions (complete with the "whoosh" sound). When newscasts start looking like FOX Sports Net...

And to answer your last question, I'm pretty sure it's an individual choice by the station, unlike NBC O&Os which all have the same graphics and music package. They must be reading from the Clear Channel "Book of Homogenization"....<P ID="signature">______________
