Magic Marc who did nights there in the early 90's? I lost track of him after he went to Boston, but loved listening to him. Any idea if he is still in radio?

Uncle Dick...

I lost track of him as well, but I know that in the mid-90s he was hosting a morning show in Virgina Beach. A few years later, I had heard he was in Milwaukee. He left his mark, no pun intended, on Providence nights, as TJ Napp essentially plagiarized Magic Marc's entire show when the former inherited Magic Marc's night show.

hey hey, watch it! Both of them were great night jocks, but I beg to differ that he stole Magic Marc's show. Tisk Tisk..shame on you. Care to elaborate as to what he stole?

Among other things that I can remember, the "Fast Five at Nine" and the "Work It or Jerk It." I am not saying that TJ Napp was not a good jock; his show, however, in my opinion, was not original.

Most people in Radio arn't orginal. Same goes for TV. Same goes for Life.

hmmm..most chr stations have a count down..Sexy Seven At Seven, Fast Five at Nine...etc...those countdowns don't end when a jock leaves and a new one jumps in..same with Work it or Jerk it, Battle of the Beats, etc...those may have been things the PD wanted..just my thoughts

My point is that while CHR stations have some common nightshow elements, TJ Napp could have put his own stamp on his show. Not only did he use Magic Marc's countdown name and new music terminology, he often tried to imitate Magic Marc's phrases and the way that the latter interacted with callers. When TJ left PRO-FM, he developed more of his own style, especially when he did middays at Y-100 in Fort Lauderdale.

> i miss him (insert frown face)

If I am not mistaken, after a stint in the coveted afternoon driver's seat at once-great WFLZ/Tampa, he moved onto 104.7 WNOK/Columbia, SC, a CHR of which he became PD.

he was last at WERO (Bob)..and left to work for the miami-dade school system,,and continues his VO work
