Speaking of Q106

Anyone here think a Adult CHR should be tried again, like KKLQ did it back in 93-96? I remember hearing Tevin Cambell, SWV, and Real Mcoy alongside the Gin Blossoms, Richard Marx, etc etc. Of course a NO RAP policy was in effect, but Q sounded pretty darn good still. I think it did fairly decent even on into 97 with Channel existing. You must wonder, with only My 94-1 existing and being Conservitive, Star having gone Jack, and Channel still quite the Rhythmic sister to Z, wonder if it is time for a "Modern Q". And when I say that, I don't mean Modern AC, I mean playing Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Natalie, and Nina Sky alongside the rock fare like Switchfoot, Howie Day, John Mayer, but without the Rap stuff that Channel has.

Absolutely! And hopefully the songs are not going to be over-researched and over-played.

I wish the late Star 100.7 would've gone in that direction. In a way, those lists of artists would make said station sound similar to Star 94 in Atlanta.<P ID="signature">______________

It's always been my personal feeling that one of the things that contributed to Star's decline was the over-research and hyper-rotations. They didn't jump on new music until it was at least halfway up the Hot AC chart(six weeks after everyone else) and they played so much No Doubt that our household took to calling them "No Doubt Radio" - there was a 50/50 chance that every top-of-the-hour power recurrent position would hold another Gwen Stefani vocal.

I'd personally welcome the return of a new adult CHR to town. Right now I don't get exposed to any new music because My is just too clumsy to listen to, and Channel makes my chest thump with sympathetic vibrations...

I agree!
But I also wonder how Q106 would have done if it were resurrected today with a format similar to Magic92.5's.
