Speaking of WYDE...

Here's something interesting I found online today about WYDE-AM (the one on 1260, not the original one at 850).

Seems like it's a website for an electronics retailer touting the HD signal of the new "Legends 1260" that we've heard about but hasn't surfaced yet. Looks like Burt and Kurt are going to be doing mornings on 1260, as some reported on the board earlier.

I'd say this was the page for the original Legends 1260, but HD didn't even exist then.

I'm guessing Janet Weirich is their Web designer and that this site will be moved to the new legends1260.com domain when the station goes live?

Also, I doubt Burt and Kurt will be doing six hours on 1260 and four on 101.1, especially since there'd be overlap and I can't see them spinning oldies on a talk station. That'd leave the Source with just Lee and Matt.

I think 101.1's days as a talker (at least a politics/issues-based talker) are numbered. Do they keep Lee and Matt to talk football (which they have been doing a lot recently anyway), bring in the old basketball coaches, throw FSR on overnights and go sports? Does Legends go to FM as well? Or will it be a brokered religion dumping ground like many of their other stations?

for those of you who don't know... Burt of Burt and Kurt... his name is Burt Weirich.

Actually, I didn't know his last name until now. I'd say this confirms that Burt has already been informed of the flip, then. I wonder when the switch will happen (10/1, perhaps?). Hopefully, they don't pull a WHPH and bounce back and forth for months before finally settling on a format.

oh they've already announced the move on 101.1FM. It's no big secret.

On Burt and Kurt's web site it says they will be on the air on Legends 1260 from 6 to 9am and on the Source from 9 to 11am effective November 13th.  I wouldn't be suprised at all if Legends 1260 isn't mostly voice tracked.  The people that were listed on the web site were current employees that could easily vt their shows and continue their regular positions.

The question now to me is who is going to be on The Source from 5 to 9am, and 11pm to 2pm?  I am putting together that Hank Erwin is coming back, all be it in a "paid" spot.  I am guessing 11 to 2pm?  I can't imagine Lee Davis being a permanent solution to mornings.

The website I posted earlier states that Burt and Kurt are going to be on 1260 from 6am to 12pm, but Burt and Kurt's website says they're going to be on 101.1 from 9am to 11am. hmmmm...what about the overlap there of 9am to 11am? Are they going to be simulcating on both stations from 9 to 11(which doesn't make sense since one of them will be music, the other talk), or is one of the websites incorrect?

I like that banner on Burt and Kurt's website at the top of the page. "Coming November 13, Burt and Kurt on two radio stations.", 1260 and 101.1. Ummm...don't they know they're on those two stations already.... lol ::)

Thats funny about the two stations thing.

I imagine that they would voicetrack Legends from 9 to 12. Charlie and Shelby will probably voice track their shifts also.
