Specs Radio?

Something is going on inside our favorite liquor store. Specs Radio is on the speakers, and from the sound of it there is more to this than some background music service. The main voice guy sounds familiar but can't tell who it is. They say to listen AT HOME on the Specs web site. Don't know how many are doing that yet but after spending a couple of hours with it over Memorial Day, it's very very cool. Too cool to be a radio format probably, but real nice soundtrack for picking out a bottle of vino.

Yep, just punched it up on the Web site. Interesting. I'll have to keep it on and see how things progress.
On a somewhat related question ... does anyone know if the music that plays in chains like Kroger is the same in every store nationally?

I found Spec's radio a couple of weeks ago. Very cool. Don't know about Kroger overhead music - I think it's just generic stuff for the store - not the same thing.

Okay, I'm hooked on "Spec's Mix"...

Frank Sinatra - It Started All Over Again [2:34] - The Reprise Collection
Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - Let Your Loss Be Your Lesson [4:01] - Raising Sand
Paula Cole - Hush, Hush, Hush. [4:22] - This Fire
Diana Ross - Love Hangover [3:49] - Disco Fever, Disc 2
Jude Cole - Worlds Apart [3:52] - Start The Car
Big Head Todd & The Monsters - Sister Sweetly [4:34] - Sister Sweetly
Glen Frey - The One You Love [4:31] - No Fun Aloud

8:50 on a Friday morning and I've got this irresistible craving for Mediterranean olives, brie, foie gras, anchovies and Martell Cordon Bleu cognac. Somebody hide the car keys!

Its amazing really... I hear all sorts of classics in Walgreens and HEB that I haven't heard on Houston radio in a long while!

The familiar voice belongs to Cruze, PD and afternoons at 107.5 The Buzz.

Makes me want to shop at HEB more. So, why doesn't this same concept dawn on those who took our only oldies station away from us? Advertisers, take note.

Friendswood's HEB pumps 60s through their speakers, with quite an extensive playlist. Kroger has a soft rock type playlist, reminds me of SR stations from the late 80s/early 90s, although for some strange reason, Lindsay Lohan gets thrown in the mix every once in a while.

As for Spec's radio, it's got a great flow of songs. Their quality is pretty good when streamed online.

I find myself singing along every time I go into that specific HEB, which is only two miles from my house. I can't speak for what any other HEB does.
