Speculation: Will TBS sell Seinfeld?

To my knowledge no local station is carrying Seinfeld in the Memphis or Jackson, TN area, so the only other choices for me are TBS and CW Plus on Spectrum cable, and it's being cut back on both of them. It's also on Crackle, but with a limited number of episodes. At least for now the full series in on Hulu.

Here is an update rumors of a Seinfeld reboot is at play.

He wants to be a re-gifter.

Jerry Seinfeld won’t rule out a revival of his beloved sitcom “Seinfeld,” the comedian revealed Tuesday on "Ellen."

"It's possible," he teased after host Ellen DeGeneres asked him about the potential of a “Seinfeld” reboot.

Seinfeld, 63, didn't expound further, but his acknowledgement that even a slight chance exists that the show could return was enough to earn a raucous reaction from the audience.

Of course, there’s been plenty of yada, yada, yada from hopeful fans begging for a “Seinfeld” reboot for years, and Seinfeld did not seem eager to bring the series back when he discussed the matter several months ago.

"Why?" Seinfeld told Entertainment Tonight in September. "Maybe it's nice that you continue to love it instead of us tampering with something that went pretty well."

A "Seinfeld" reunion was a storyline during the seventh season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" — "Seinfeld" co-creator Larry David's show — in 2009.

I love Seinfeld. I watch it every chance I get.

But do we really want to see these characters in their 60's?

Rowan Atkinson famously quit doing Mr. Bean because he felt people did not want
to see that character get old. Beyond a point he found it pathetic. I think it may
be the same with Jerry, Kramer, George and Elaine. Untethered, unserious people
floundering around New York City as they approach Social Security?

It might be good therapy for Julia Louis-Dreyfus (who is recovering from breast cancer treatments)
and Michael Richards (who is recovering from career suicide).

Aside from that I can't think of much to recommend the idea.
