I wonder how R&S would translate to an AOR station to do PM drive or something like that. I couldn't see R&S on any CC property or on any CHR like Q100.

R&S are good talent but there's no station left that would be a good fit (too pricey for True Oldies plus they've got Imus, B98.5 is booked up with S&V, River might be a possibility but they're no fit for a music-heavy format like River, and R&S would cannibalize S&V big-time)

Too pricey together, yes, but they can swing Spiff alone in that afternoon slot. Problem is, Citadel's big boss stated recently that all jobs are still under review and that more changes would be coming. Would that job be a no-brainer for a quick budget slice?

Mark my words..Scott Shannon will be on True Oldies 9AM-6AM. There will BE not afternoon slot. Imus will fade and Randy & Spiff will doing mornings. Just you watch and see...

Right, because this "new blood" you speak of has done so well in the market. Giant Brian, Morning Mess, Zach Tyler. There's your new blood. Just because it's new doesn't mean it's good. Bottom line: Atlantans like familiarity and so do advertisers. The RG's, Bert, S&V, Ski, Cameron, etc. are still the biggest names in the market. Name one new show in the past 5 years that has made any kind of impression on Atlanta radio listeners.

People in general like familiarity, change is uncomfortable. That's why it's difficult for any new blood to be given a chance because hangers on still longing for what's no longer in existence on air flat out refuse to accept it. You're right on one thing, new doesn't mean good , you said that, I didn't. However, every jock or show was once new and given a chance to grow and build that heritage. Give it time, you'll learn to love it or accept it or get over it.
Randy & Spiff where very successful in Top 40 before Atlanta. They were selected for Fox 97 so that mornings wouldn't sound like a nostalgic oldies station. They can/should be successful in other formats. There are three major shake-ups coming this fall. I'm betting that they'll end up doing one of them.
