I run this station right now called The Dump. I don't make any money on it (I lose money on licensing, but I get free bandwidth) so I don't really consider it a commercial venture but more like a public service to anyone who might enjoy what I air on the station. It's a real station that runs off a DELL PC that I got literally out of a dumpster (hence the original name) although I've upgraded the PC a lot since then it's still the same motherboard and power supply. Now it runs everything off an SSD drive and everything including the DSL router switch etc. are all on batteries so we can broadcast through at least 2 hours without power. The station uplinks to bandwidth in Chicago which is free bandwidth - I have a customer I do work for and I run his server and he needs to process lots of advertising clicks but they use very little bandwidth. All the other bandwidth I can use for the station for at least 100 listeners if I wanted to.
Anyway I want to change the name to Spin Zone Radio and I need a few little sweepers and IDs and stuff and I am pretty much dirt poor right now and can't afford a professional place to do it. I kind of have an idea in my mind, if you remember how The Zone was with both male and female voices. If I could get that installed and work on my playlist I could submit to iTunes and really go big. That would be sticking it to the man in my mind, because as far as I am concerned? Houston radio, you're fired. You f*'d up for the last time. You know how you tell a little kid DONT TOUCH THE STOVE ITS HOT but he touches it anyway. Houston radio is the stove and I'm done touching the stove.
