Sponsorship or....

Now we all know The River has a studio at Mohegan Sun, but I heard the Magic 93 legal id that says "Live from the Dickson City Hyundai Studio...." So is there a studio, or is it just a did they buy naming rights?

Studio naming rights? Wow, when will it end... btw/ I'm responding from my WalMart swivel chair on my IBM computer!

Studio naming rights have been sold on radio stations around the country for several years now. Lots of things are sold - weekend giveaways, for instance, major contests, request hours. If it happens, it can be sold.

But alas, this is NEPA, and it just takes awhile for things to get here. I hear NEPA stations will soon be going from cd to digital audio systems!

It shouldn't bother anyone in the business - for years DJ's have sold themselves to whoever would pay cash or trade for weight-loss programs, gyms, car dealerships, cellphones, restaurants...you name it. Many times they don't even care about or even like the product. But they do it for the money or the traded merchandise.. so on-air people should be the last to say anything negative about sponsorships their stations sell.

I have pimped myself out for I can't remember how many weight-loss plans and gym memberships to retain my girlish figure.

the SMALL town station had SOLD time-checks...
