Sporting events that DIDN'T delay programs

James Brown hosted "World's Funniest", a home video show. I remember seeing it on one station that was not airing a certain game, and it had a TV-PG rating. The other station joined the show about 5 minutes before the end after the game. On that station, the show had a TV-G rating.
 
In my area, WBBM AM always airs 60 Minutes on the radio at 6 pm and on TV if a sporting event delays it you can just listen to the audio from the show on WBBM AM and watch it in its entirety on WBBM TV after its over. If there's not a sporting event before, then they both air it at 6 pm

Because unlike Fox, CBS has affiliates that have a desire to run news before Prime Time (And many don't have another place they can put it). Fox affiliates usually have another place to run news (I cite Denver as an example. Whenever news can't be run on KDVR, they simply move it to KWGN. Problem solved)

I'm sure there are other examples (And YES, there are CBS that are paired with a MyNet or CW affiliate (And in the case of KPHO 5, Indie KTVK 3) where they can move the news to. But MANY don't have such an option

And then there are the CBS/Fox duos who DO NOT have active subs (Granted, something that's becoming more & more rare) OR arrangements with other broadcasters in the area. WHERE do you suggest THEY put the news ?? (I'm sure they're open to ideas :D )

Hey old people, this has happened for literally decades but it strikes me as hilarious that there is someone in the Eastern Time Zone getting fired up about this delay and is prepared to write the "Mother of All Letters" to their local CBS affiliate or start calling to voice their concern for this unacceptable travesty. Every.Single.Weekend.

Just a heads up, CBS will do the same next weekend for The Masters. They will NOT throw The Masters to another channel if it runs long... period.

NBC might have a similar problem on their hands (basically a Heidi in reverse) tonight if Bears-Eagles NFC wild card runs late, beyond 8 ET and the start of the Golden Globes. All the awards show fans (or even red carpet show fans as I type this) lighting up 30 Rock's switchboards and cyberspace complaining about this new unacceptable travesty: "Hello, I would like to watch my Golden Globe Awards! Sir? Where is the Golden Globes? I don't wanna see Al Michaaeelllssss!!!!"

And can you imagine with not the game itself but the postgame itself that causes the delay?

We will find out 90 mintues from now as I type this.

Why they didn't make the Saturday wild card games ABC/NBC games only then CBS/Fox for Sundays (basically Fox and NBC swap games this weekend).
 
NBC probably wanted the NFL lead in as to not have it competing against the Globes on another network. They better not get a double overtime.

they lucked out, the Eagles won after the kicker of the Bears missed a 3 point game winning feild goal and game ended on time last night.

Now, had they ruled a successful two point conversion on the preceding touchdown (I submit the replay actually did show the ball break the plane, but I digress), and the kick not been tipped, well...ok, then it would have headed to OT.
