Sporting News affiliates

Somehow got to thinking about this the other day, Sporting News is no longer on WSCO in Applwton, WI, which is a Tony Bruno stronghold. WSCO has bumped the Brick for Tony's new gig 9-midnight CT. Has the demise of Sporting News radio continued? How many stations are affiliated with that dreck now? Tony had 12 or so for the launch of his new show, does that beat what SNR has total? Seriously, I'm wondering if anyone of you has the numbers, just curious.

Sporting News Radio is doing better than what you would think. Their strongest affiliate base is with CBS Radio. Granted they are only on overnights and weekends for most stations, but they also get commercials cleared during the week on large market stations.

Some of the CBS sports stations that are affiliated with Sporting News include: KILT- Houston, 97.1 The Ticket in Detroit- SportsRadio 1140 in Las Vegas- & 670 The Score in Chicago.

WQXI Atlanta "790 The Zone" isn't with CBS, but it is the home station for SNR's "The 2 Live Stews", with SNR programming during overnights and weekends also.

One of the top sports stations in the country, 1310 The Ticket in Dallas (The original Ticket), is a SNR station.

which only carries SNR overnights, both weekend and weekday...i would say they're strong because they're heavy on the local programming all during the daytime hours

how SNR remains on the air is the biggest mystery in broadcasting. No major stations, no major talent and I guess the 3rd sports station in most markets is enough for the sales hacks to convince the nickle and dime ads they sell that they somehow are a legit radio network.
As bad as Fox Sports Radio has become as a fraud network, Sporting News is painfully bad.

Doesnt SNR still have James Brown on midday and Tim Brando on PM Drive?

I remember a few years ago, in the Atlantic City Market, There was a SNR and ESPN station and I found myself listening to the SNR more.

They had Brown and Brando and I thought they did a pretyt good job.

Have to agree with Harvey.

I have grown tired of ESPN promoting themselves instead of sports.

A lot of longtime sports stations are getting tired of ESPN Radio's increasing demands to carry the national shows; I know that the sports radio shuffles in Milwaukee and in the Raliegh/Durham, NC area have been initiated by stations dropping and going with more local shows or FSR or SNR.
